Title: Writing About Behavior Analysis for the Media

Abstract: Behavior analysts work in healthcare, public policy, education, sports, and other important disciplines. Writing for the public is one of the best ways to disseminate that work. When you write for high-profile publications (e.g., Harvard Business Review), local newspapers, or magazines of professional associations, you reach a wider audience and your work becomes searchable online. In this session, participants will learn how to form an idea for an article, find a publication outlet, and pitch the idea.

Learning Objectives:

1) Describe the steps of the mainstream publication process.

2) Identify types of mainstream publications.

3) Identify the structure/style and elements of a mainstream publication
